A total of nine projects worth 17.36 billion yuan ($2.5 billion) were signed in Shanghai on Oct 11, further promoting the city's high-quality development and opening up.

The coastal city of Yantai, Shandong province hosted a cooperation conference in Shanghai attracting multinational companies and several companies which are leaders in their field.

The nine projects, covering high-end manufacturing, modern services and other emerging fields, will fuel the city's growth driver transformation from old to new ones.

Accordingly, an artificial intelligence industrial park, electrical blade manufacturing plant, marine ecological town and intelligent manufacturing industrial park will built in Yantai.

Zhang Shuping, Party secretary of Yantai, highlighted the city's opportunities in developing high-end industries at the conference.

The China (Shandong) Free Trade Zone Yantai Area, launched on Aug 31, paved the way for the city to further open up and provided a pilot area for boosting high-end equipment manufacturing, new generations of information technology, and biomedical industries.

The Yantai government will continue to improve the city's business environment to bolster the development of local companies.
