A musical drama entitled Changdao Changdao made its debut at the Yantai Opera and Dance Drama Theater on Sept 4, vividly showcasing the county's rich historical culture and traditions.
Through music, poetry, painting and dance, the drama showcases numerous elements of Changdao county's local culture, including Mazu culture, fishermen's songs and sea worship. It also includes images of the newly-built Changdao Marine Ecological Civilization Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
Changdao county, located at the north end of China's Shandong province, enjoys an abundance of wildlife. Marine species like barracudas can also be seen swimming in the nearby sea areas, while sharp-eyed visitors can track signs of coastal erosion in the rocky outcrops.
It has 32 picturesque islands each with their own unique features, which attract a large number of tourists every summer. For seafood lovers, the county is home to Chinese abalone, scallops and seaweed.
