The International Healthcare Industry Exposition will be held at the Yantai International Exposition Center in October, according to an announcement at a news briefing conference on Tuesday.

The expo is designed to display the latest results in the field of healthcare and provide an exchange platform for institutions and companies focusing on medicine, nursing, rehabilitation tourism and scientific research.

The expo will cover an area of 18,600 square meters and have nine themed exhibition areas, including elderly care, medical treatment, rehabilitation nursing and leisure tourism.

A total of 700 booths are planned. More than 30,000 purchasers and professional audiences are expected to take part.

During the expo, the 2019 Yantai International Healthcare Industry Summit and a forum featuring enterprise management in healthcare sector will also be held. Leading scholars in the field will be invited to explore the latest technologies and theories .

In 2018, the income of the city's healthcare industry exceeded 83 billion yuan ($12.3 billion), and it is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan by 2020.
