A delegation from the University of Groningen, one of the Netherlands' oldest centers of learning, visited the Yantai Pioneering Park for College Students in the Yantai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone on April 12.

The delegation, led by UG President Professor Sibrandes Poppema, visited the park's exhibition hall and learned basic information about the park from its supporting facilities and preferential policies to its application conditions and process.

A tripartite agreement was signed by the University of Groningen, China Agricultural University and the city of Yantai in March 2015 to establish a joint branch campus in Yantai.

A large part of the University of Groningen Yantai has already been developed. The campus will attract talented students, top researchers and high-profile research projects.

The UG delegation reached consensus with the Yantai Pioneering Park for College Students on university-park cooperation.

Relying on its entrepreneurial resources and preferential policies, the park will provide start-up training and internships for students from UG's Yantai campus, while the university will provide technical support and high-end human resources for the innovative development of the park.

The two sides will cooperate extensively in personnel training, technical services, improvement of enterprises' innovation ability and promotion of entrepreneurship for college students.
