Looking across beautiful Binhai Square below Yantai Mountain into the immense sea, you can see several scattered islands, the largest of which is Kongdong Island.
Located 9.5 kilometers northeast of Zhifu district in Yantai, Kongtong Island, surrounded by reefs and beaches, has rich marine resources.
The island is also blessed with enchanting landscapes and lush forest. Strange reefs and odd rocks can be found everywhere, and the green hills and clear water contrast well with each other.
The outlying islands, including the distinctive Turtle and Crane islands, seem like a fleet safeguarding this thriving isle city of high-rise buildings.
Kongdong Island has a total area of one square kilometer and a developed area of 0.84 sq kms.
Situated in low hilly terrain with its main northern peak at an altitude of 63.8 meters, it is as long as 1.95 kms and as wide as 0.5 kms.
The T-shaped mountain range on the island runs east to west for 1,500 meters. Lying in the north of the island, it forms a natural defense, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer.
Wandering on Kongdong Island, you are in an idyllic world of white sand surrounded by a vast sea of gentle waves. The floating red scarves of the workers in the aquatic products processing plant not far away add a touch of color to the serenity.
