An industrial park for artificial intelligence and robotics was inaugurated on Nov 28 in the Yantai Hi-tech Zone in a bid to vigorously develop the robotics and intelligent equipment industry of the coastal city.

Distinguished guests from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Yantai government and the Yantai Hi-tech Zone attended the opening ceremony.

The industrial park was jointly built by the Yantai municipal commission of economy and information technology, the administrative committee of the Yantai Hi-tech Zone and a local high-tech enterprise.

The industrial park will launch major cooperation projects with China Electronics Technology Group, and introduce high-end talent from home and abroad in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics to build an innovative platform for the industry, serving as a new driving force for advancing the city's nascent robot industry.

The Yantai municipal commission of economy and information technology, the administrative committee of Yantai Hi-tech Zone and the Research Center for Computer and Microelectronics Industry Development (China Software Testing Center) of MIIT signed a cooperative agreement at the opening ceremony to jointly build a national service platform for robotics testing and certification at the AI and robotics industrial park of Yantai Hi-tech Zone.

Industrial robotics is an emerging industry which will come to play an increasingly important role in production and social development.

In recent years Yantai has attached great importance to the development of robotics and intelligent equipment through technological innovation and industrial upgrading.The city has launched a series of regulations and guidance documents,and supporting policies to promote the development of related industries.
