The city of Yantai in Shandong province plans to build a wine-themed amusement park in Changyu International Wine City - a purpose built chateau located in the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Yantai is the only international wine city in Asia and wine tourism has become a highlight of the city. The Changyu wine-themed amusement park will be a key part of Changyu Wine City and with joint efforts from international and domestic designers, it aims to become a new tourism landmark in Yantai. The park is also expected to promote Yantai's wine culture.

Zhang Yongxia, deputy Party secretary of Yantai city, welcomed a delegation from the US led by Bob Fleming, a famous planning designer, on May 17. He vowed to develop the amusement park into an international tourist attraction with advanced designs.
