Cultural boom to benefit the people

Yantai has made breakthroughs in boosting cultural industries and initiating State-level programs.
Local residents are enjoying a colorful cultural life. M any of them have got the chance to perform on China Central Television, thanks to the city's cultural programs.
Since 2014, local authorities have improved cultural facilities and make them serve as permanent site for public performance.
In addition, local authorities organized a three-month cultural festival, during which more than 300 activities were held. Yantai Poly Grand Theater held more than 110 performances, and some of them were free. Wenhua Philharmonic Orchestra and Huayun Chinese Orchestra staged five concerts in three days, with 1,000 free tickets to music lovers. Other professional troupes staged 1,300 performances for rural residents. In addition, some 70,000 films were played for the public since May. The efforts have helped to develop a powerful cultural atmosphere in the city.
Yantai's move to establish a demonstration zone of a State-level public culture service system passed interim appraisal in October 2014. It was named a model cultural city for a third time by the Ministry of Education one month later. Yantai as well as Laizhou, Changdao, Longkou, Muping, Penglai and Zhaoyuan were named as China's advanced cultural models by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in December 2014. Xu Ming, director of the Yantai bureau of culture, radio, TV, film, press and publication, was named as a model worker in the country's cultural system.
