Olivier, chief representative of France's Pays De La Loire in Shandong, led a delegation to visit Yantai on July 1, 2014.

During the symposium, the delegation spoke with Yantai’s foreign affairs office, tourism, and grape and wine bureaus on bilateral cooperation in tourism, especially wine tourism.

Yantai's foreign affairs office put forward some suggestions on strengthening cooperation with Angers of Pays De La Loire and introduced major cooperation projects between Pays De La Loire and Shandong, covering fields of gardening, wine-making, baking, environmental protection, health products, ship design and maintenance, and clothing.

Pays De La Loire is located in western France, covering an area of 32,100 square kilometers with a population of 3 million. It is France’s fifth largest economic zone, second largest agricultural zone, third largest industrial zone, second largest aircraft manufacturing base and largest ship-building base.

Pays De La Loire boasts STX Group, the largest yacht manufacturing enterprise worldwide, and manufacturing bases of Airbus (the famous aeromechanics group) and Reynolds (a famous automobile enterprise).

Yantai also has established a sister city relationship with Angers.
