The acclaimed national opera Yimeng Mountain was performed at a residential community in Tianqiao district, Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on Dec 15.

The opera, performed by the Shandong Song and Dance Theater, is based on true stories that occurred in Shandong's Yimeng Mountain during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).

The opera tells how local villagers tirelessly dedicated themselves to helping millions of Communist-led soldiers by making shoes and clothes for them and taking care of their children, highlighting the spirit of Yimeng villagers and soldiers working together to pursue a common destiny.
