Residents in Jining, East China's Shandong province have achieved steady income growth in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), with an annual growth rate that is 2.3 percent higher than that of the city's GDP.

In 2020, Jining's urban and rural per capita disposable income stood at 38,368 yuan (around $5,939) and 18,653 yuan respectively, up 3.3 percent and 5.7 percent compared to 2019.

Jining has launched a series of measures to promote full employment and has raised its minimum wage many times. Efforts have also been made to improve the city's business environment and streamline administrative procedures so that more people can start their own business and earn money from them.

In addition, Jining residents' income sources are much more diversified as various personal financial management services are available now. The land transfer in rural areas brings benefits to local farmers, while also helping the diversification of income sources.
