Jining injects strong vitality to economy, society

Jining in East China's Shandong province has turned itself into an economically and socially prosperous city by improving its business environment, developing infrastructure, as well as beautifying public places.

In 2020, Jining's GDP rose by 3.6 percent and its foreign trade volume increased by 18.3 percent compared to 2019. It was also recognized as a national-level civilized city, ranking first in Shandong and fifth in the country.

The city's business environment has been greatly improved, with 98 percent of administrative services available online. In addition, the electronic version of 14 kinds of commonly used credentials, including ID cards and social security cards, can now be accessed on the “Jishitong” mobile application, which saves people the effort of carrying lots of documents with them, said Du Wei, deputy director of the Jining big data center.

Infrastructure construction in Jining has also experienced notable development. A complete highway network, which extends a total of 442 kilometers long, can reach every county in Jining. A new airport project has also been initiated, while the construction of a number of railway lines within the city has been finished.

Moreover, there are now 5,695 5G base stations in Jining, covering the downtown area and all major industrial parks.

Jining has also become cleaner and tidier as increased beautification efforts have been made. The city government has greatly invested in rebuilding roads, parks, and public squares, as well as improving the environment in farmers' markets, public toilets, and communities.
