Geography
Rencheng district is the political, economic and cultural center of Jining, Shandong province. It is located in the plain areas in southwest Shandong province and at the northern end of Weishan, Zhaoyang, Dushan and Nanyang lakes.

Transportation
Rencheng district is adjacent to Jining Qufu Airport, Qufu Railway and Lunan (Rizhao-Lankao) High-speed Railway, which is under construction. National roads 105 and 327, and Rilan (Rizhao-Lankao) and Jixu (Jinan-Xuzhou) expressways go through the district, as well as Jihe (Jinan-Heze) Railway and the Jinghang (Beijing-Hangzhou) Grand Canal. It is an important hub connecting East China and North China, and the intersection of national economic strategy projects such as South-North Water Diversion, North-South Coal Transportation, and West-East Coal Transportation.

Economy
In 2019, the district's GDP reached 53.34 billion yuan ($8.12 billion), up 3.3 percent year-on-year. The added value of the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors were 2.47 billion yuan, 15.55 billion yuan, and 35.32 billion yuan, falling 0.4 percent, 11 percent and up 11.4 percent respectively. The structure of the three industries was adjusted to 4.6: 29.2: 66.2. The added value of the service industry accounted for a year-on-year increase of 4.8 percent in GDP. The per capita GDP is 52,168 yuan, up 3.1 percent.
Administrative divisions
The district consists of two towns – Changgou and Yutun – 13 subdistricts – Nianlipu, Liying, Nanzhang, Jincheng, Xianying, Guhuai, Fuqiao, Guanyinge, Jiyang, Yuehe, Nanyuan, Anju and Tangkou – and Yunhe Economic Development Zone.
