Shandong province has arranged 17 publishing houses to exhibit at the 30th Beijing International Book Fair, which opened on June 19 and will last for five days.

The fair features 71 countries and regions with 1,600 domestic and international publishing and related institutions participating onsite.

The Shandong exhibition area covers 350 square meters with 40 booths, showcasing over 10,000 books. The books include Confucian classics promoting Chinese traditional culture and outstanding works reflecting cultural innovation achievements. This comprehensive display highlights Shandong's recent achievements in promoting international publishing exchanges and preserving traditional culture.

Jinan Publishing House, which has participated in over 10 Beijing International Book Fairs, presents books in six categories, including a "going global" series, Chinese culture, and Jinan culture, in this year's edition. The publishing house has received cooperation inquiries from Taiwan, Vietnam, and other regions, said Kong Yan, deputy director of the general editorial office.

At the fair, Qingdao Publishing Group showcases over 500 types of books, emphasizing education, children's literature, lifestyle, and social sciences. They aim to align with Shandong's cultural essence, showcasing Chinese traditional culture and focusing on children's education, according to Zhang Xiao, a manager at the company.

During the event, Qingdao Publishing Group plans to hold about 37 international copyright exchange activities with countries including Japan, South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom, aiming to promote Chinese culture globally, Zhang added.

Shandong plans to host over 10 new book launches and cultural exchange activities during the fair to strengthen international publishing cooperation and showcase Shandong's rich historical and cultural heritage to the world.
