The Brazil-China Peony Culture Exhibition was held on March 28, Beijing time in the city of Sao Paulo in Brazil, as a curtain-raiser for the upcoming 2024 Heze Peony International Communication Forum in China.

This exhibition presented local Brazilians with cultural and artistic programs and handicrafts from Heze city, located in East China's Shandong province.

Later, the 2024 Heze Peony International Communication Forum itself is scheduled to kick off on April 12 in Heze.

The exhibition in Sao Paulo showcased the wonderful charms of Chinese peony culture through a display of vivid pictures of the flowers, with the added attractions of graceful traditional dances being performed and some exquisite handicrafts from Heze being shown. All in all, the event was warmly praised by the attending Brazilians.

During the exhibition, locals put on hanfu – traditional Chinese-style clothing – from Heze city. What's more, they tried their hand at ink painting, calligraphy, paper-cutting and other activities, to personally experience traditional Chinese culture.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Brazil, the event was seen as boosting relations.

It helped share the story and utter charm of Chinese peony culture with the Brazilian people. It was also said to demonstrate cultural self-confidence, strengthen cultural exchanges and people-to-people ties between China and Brazil and promote mutual understanding and respect.
