Approved by the Communist Party of China Shandong Committee and the provincial government, the center, formerly known as the Shandong Provincial Cultural Relics Conservation and Restoration Center, is now entrusted with broader responsibilities.

As a first-class public institution under the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, it will focus on investigations, protection, and restoration of movable cultural relics, project acceptance, and various cultural relic appraisals.

The establishment aligns with the national efforts in heritage to strengthen cultural relic appraisal systems. The center's role as a foundational support in this regard holds paramount significance for promoting high-quality cultural relic conservation and utilization in Shandong province.

During the inauguration, collaboration agreements were signed to create the Cultural Relics Science and Technology Authentication Research Innovation Alliance.

This alliance, formed in partnership with analytical, testing, and scientific research entities, aims to foster interdisciplinary cooperation and innovation.

The newly formed center will serve as a hub for coordinating cultural relic appraisals and collaborations, laying the groundwork for a pioneering regional cultural relic appraisal platform. The ceremony was attended by officials from the National Cultural Heritage Administration and provincial authorities.

This initiative marks a crucial step towards elevating cultural heritage protection and ensuring a robust appraisal framework in Shandong.
