A photography exhibition titled "Friendly Shandong, Romance along the Silk Road" was launched in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on Sept 5.

The show, co-sponsored by the Shandong Provincial Government and the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, is part of the "Year of Culture and Art of the People of China and Central Asian Countries" celebrations.

It has gathered 100 classic photographic works that reflect people's social lives and the natural landscape of Shandong and Central Asian countries.

The exhibition is divided into three sections. The "Friendly Shandong" section shows the achievements of Shandong's economic and social development and splendid culture, with all the pictures captured by photographers from Central Asian countries.

The "Romance along the Silk Road" section shows the folk customs of Central Asia captured by Shandong and Chinese photographers, while the "Long History" section portrays the rich cultural history and friendly exchanges between Shandong and Uzbekistan.

Folk artists from Shandong also showcased the province's intangible cultural heritage items at the exhibition's opening ceremony.
