Yantai has a rich history and traditional culture and many intangible cultural heritage items. One intangible cultural heritage from the city is Jiaodong window paper-cutting, which is unique among Chinese paper-cutting art forms because of its focus on storytelling. Its themes can range from simple objects to historical stories, myths and legends.

Yantai woolen embroidery is a traditional handicraft that utilizes different colors of high-quality wool. Its history can be traced back over 2,000 years.

Yantai is also globally renowned for its wine culture. The largest wine production base in China, the city has held an international wine expo every year since 2007.

Flanked by seas and mountains, the city of Yantai has beautiful scenes of nature and a wide selection of cultural sights, making it an ideal destination for sightseeing and vacationing.

Penglai Pavilion is a must-visit for those coming to Yantai. In Chinese legends, this place, also dubbed "paradise on earth", is where immortals and deities reside. Located atop Danya Mountain, Penglai Pavilion has retained its original appearance – it was built in the Northern Song Dynasty (960 to 1127 A.D.) - till this day.
