Shandong promotes culture, tourism in South Korea

The Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism held a promotional event in South Korea on May 30 to further cultural exchanges and attract more tourists from South Korea.

The event was attended by more than 160 guests comprising government officials from Shandong and South Korea, media professionals, key representatives from local travel agencies, airlines, hotels, Chinese community, and members of various culture and art circles.

Located on the east coast of China, Shandong is an economically prosperous, culturally rich, and tourism-rich province that boasts convenient transportation and is equipped with comprehensive tourism facilities and exceptional services.

The province's natural beauty is exemplified by Mount Tai and the majestic Yellow River, while its historical significance lies in it being the birthplace of Confucius. Known for its diverse attractions and warm hospitality, the province's tourism campaign is branded "Friendly Shandong". Home to numerous famous mountains, abundant forests, rivers, and lakes, Shandong is also an excellent destination for eco-tourism.

Shandong and South Korea are neighbors, and the friendly cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two have gone on for a long time, said Shandong officials, who expressed hope that more South Koreans will travel to Shandong for leisure and experience the province's historical and cultural heritage.

Travel agencies from the two sides have reached cooperation agreements in many aspects including tourism product research and development, tourism promotion, and marketing.
