The China (Zibo) International Ceramics Exposition opened its 21st winter session – running from Nov 29 to Dec 6 – in the city of Zibo, one of the most important ceramics production hubs in East China.

A set of ceramic cups and lids and colored glaze tea ware – fashioned as municipal gifts – debuted at the expo. Let's check them out.

A set of colored glaze products known as "color left over by Nyuwa" – wa huang yi cai in Chinese – developed by Shandong Lijie Cultural Originality Co Ltd. The six-part tea set is made via an innovative ancient ink and wash casting process, which blends the ink color with the transparent color, resulting in a kaleidoscopic piece of art. The ceramic cups called hai dai qing feng were designed by Wang Ruofei – a girl born after 1995. "Hai dai" refers to the area between the Bohai Sea and Mount Tai in Shandong province, where the city of Zibo is located. Wang uses cyan to represent "hai dai" and adorns the teacups with depictions of modern landmarks of Zibo. [Photo/zbdaily.com]
