The Shandong Provincial People's Government has launched an implementation plan to boost the revitalization of the Yimeng Mountains area, an old revolutionary base in the province.

The plan consists of 25 measures and policies in seven categories.

According to the plan, Shandong will continue to implement the rural revitalization strategy in the area, accelerate agricultural modernization, build beautiful and livable villages, promote the integrated development between urban and rural areas, deepen agricultural and rural reform, as well as consolidate and expand poverty alleviation efforts.

Efforts will be made to replace old growth drivers with new ones, advance innovation-driven development, foster industries with local strengths, accelerate the development of the "Four News" economy, as well as further opening up efforts.

Shandong will promote green and low-carbon development in the Yimeng Mountains area, with specific measures to strengthen ecological protection and restoration, as well as to develop the tourism industry with local characteristics.

Shandong will promote cultural revitalization in the area, with specific measures to carry forward and inherit red culture, as well as to strengthen the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics.

The province will improve people's well-being in the area, with measures to strengthen public services, bolster education, as well as improve public health prevention and control capabilities.

Shandong will improve the infrastructure network in the area, with measures to accelerate the building of a comprehensive transportation system, bolster water conservancy construction, improve energy security, and build new types of infrastructure.

The province will improve the policy support system covering finance, land, talent, and other sectors to support the area's development.

The Yimeng Mountains area has long been known as the cradle of the "Yimeng spirit," which was cultivated during China's struggle for liberation in the 1930s and 40s.

During the War of Liberation, more than 1.2 million of the 4.2 million people living in the Yimeng Mountains area made efforts to support the Red Army, with more than 200,000 joining it.

The Yimeng spirit of hard work, self-improvement, selflessness, and dedication has inspired generations of Chinese people ever since, continuing to shine in many ways in the present.
