Shandong aims to build 30 ecological industrial parks by the end of 2022 to promote ecological civilization construction.

By the end of 2025, the proportion of ecological industrial parks will be more than 50 percent of industrial parks in Shandong, according to a guideline launched by the Shandong government.

In the process of constructing eco-industrial parks, the innovation of management modes will take precedence.

Pilot projects will be encouraged and priority will be given to supporting eco-industrial parks in carrying out pilot projects such as environmental stewardship, environmental impact assessment reform for construction projects in eco-industrial parks, and the audit model for cleaner production clusters, as well as promoting third-party treatment of environmental pollution.

Shandong will strengthen financial support for the establishment of ecological industrial parks. A maximum of 3 million yuan ($469,800) will be given to newly established eco-industrial parks.

The province will further strengthen policy support for ecological industrial parks, said local officials.
