The gourd planting and processing industry has become an important engine, empowered by e-commerce, to boost local farmers' incomes in Luxi village, Tangyi town, Dongchangfu district, Liaocheng, Shandong province.

To date, the village has more than 300 households involved in gourd planting and processing, with a gourd planting area of more than 80 hectares and an annual output value of nearly 300 million yuan ($46.89 million).
