The first 20 boxes of salted duck eggs and preserved eggs produced by Shandong Weishan Lake Industry and Trade Co, which is located in Jining, East China's Shandong province, cleared customs on Aug 18 and were shipped to South Korea.

This is the first time that Jining's duck eggs have been exported to South Korea, local media outlets reported.

Shandong Weishan Lake Industry and Trade Co received orders from a South Korean customer in March but failed to deliver products overseas as it hadn't registered itself in the export destination, according to Zhang Qian, a director of the company.

In order to help solve the issue, Jining customs formed a special team to provide the company with detailed information about the relevant laws, regulations, and standards in South Korea. It also helped the company improve its safety and quality management, as well as register successfully in South Korea.

Zhang expressed thanks to the Jining customs for helping the company receive approval to export duck eggs to South Korea.

Jining customs will make more efforts to offer companies guidance and help local agricultural products enter international markets, said Yang Lin, an official at the Jining customs.
