​World internal combustion engine congress opens in Jinan

The second World Congress on Internal Combustion Engines opened in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, on April 21.

The congress, which is held every three years, is a comprehensive technology exchange platform for the internal combustion engine industry launched by the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines.

The four-day event involves international academic exchanges, summit forums, technological promotions, a high-end product exhibition, and on-site technical inspections.

More than 200 enterprises, colleges, and institutions from home and abroad showcase cutting-edge internal combustion engine technologies and accessories and test equipment for internal combustion engines at the exhibition.

Foreign experts form the Unities States and Britain and renowned scholars and entrepreneurs from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Weichai, Dongfeng Motor, and Geely are also invited to the event.

During the conference, participants will discuss the future development of the internal combustion engine sector. Eight sub-forums will be hosted focusing on the reliability of internal combustion engines, efficient combustion, fuel cell engines, fuel and lubricating oil, post-treatment technology, and methanol fuel.

Shandong is an important equipment manufacturing base in China, with many well-known internal combustion engine and component enterprises.

The conference will play an important role in attracting global engine and related industries to Shandong, which will accelerate the high quality development of the internal combustion engine industry in the province, officials said.
