Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, has set goals to advance the city's rural revitalization and accelerate modern agricultural development.

The per capita disposable income of rural residents is expected to increase by 9 percent in 2021, according to the city's plan for promoting rural revitalization and modern agricultural development.

Local authorities will support the cultivation of agricultural industrial clusters with distinctive advantages. More efforts will be made to build an export processing cluster in Laiwu district, a high-end rose processing cluster in Pingyin county, and a modern planting trade cluster.

The city will foster 10 industrial clusters – each valued at 10 billion yuan ($1.52 billion) – that are related to rural tourism, modern grain and oil, and modern planting industries, as well as introduce the headquarters of agro-related enterprises at home and abroad. The city is expected to have 100 provincial level leading agricultural enterprises by 2025.

Jinan will also develop live streaming e-commerce industry to expand the market of agricultural products.
