Ren Qingsheng, Party chief of Dinglou village and deputy to the 13th Shandong Provincial People's Congress, has contributed to the high-quality development of the village's e-commerce industry.

Dinglou village, located in Caoxian county, Heze, Shandong province, has been named a "Taobao village" for the past eight consecutive years. The title is granted to villages with over 10 million yuan ($1.54 million) in total annual e-commerce transactions.

More than 90 percent of villagers in Dinglou are involved in the e-commerce industry, and the village has made around 500 million yuan in e-commerce sales of stage costumes.

Last year, the COVID-19 outbreak led to a downturn in the market for stage plays, and Dinglou's online orders fell sharply as a result.

Under Ren's guidance, the village achieved a decisive transformation, expanding from performance clothing into sportswear, wedding clothing, and ethnic costumes to cut losses and take advantage of the market.

Ren is now attending the ongoing fifth session of the 13th Shandong Provincial People's Congress and will propose that the government introduce more policies to further support the diversified development of rural e-commerce, increase financial support for the development of small and micro-sized enterprises, promote the rural revitalization strategy, and accelerate agricultural and rural development.

In Daji town, where Dinglou Village is located, the industrial model is also advancing from online shops to the entire industrial chain, which includes raw materials, design, production, processing, logistics distribution, and professional industrial parks.
