Shandong held a promotional event on Dec 18 in Qingdao to promote special tourism products and attract expats to the province.

One tour focuses on Shandong culture, catering to tourists from Japan and South Korea, while one focuses on the province's famous scenic spots for the European and American markets.

In addition, the province also launched a special tourism route for travellers from China's Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The promotional event was attended by representatives of foreign tourism agencies in Shandong, delegates from the province's sister cities, people in charge of overseas chambers of commerce, and representatives from major domestic travel agencies.

Wang Chunsheng, a second-grade inspector of the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, promoted the province's long history, rich culture, and diverse tourism resources at the event.

Wang said that Shandong will provide high-quality products, more favorable tourism policies, and more refined services to attract expats to the province and recover the province's tourism market.

Christelle Rouault, general representative of the Brittany region of France in Shandong, has lived in Shandong for 23 years and serves as the culture and tourism ambassador of Shandong.

"I believe that through my personal influence and the promotion of the tourism industry in France, more and more foreign tourists will come to Shandong for sightseeing," she said.
