The Lunan Healthcare Industrial Park, located in Shizhong district of Zaozhuang, Shandong province, is aiming to foster a competitive cluster for intelligent manufacturing of medical devices and industrial services in China, said local officials.

In answering the province's call to promote the transformation of old growth drivers to new ones, the industrial park will focus on the R&D and production of in vitro diagnostic equipment and reagents and biological medicine, as well as leverage big data technology to boost the health and medical sectors.

The industrial park started construction in February 2019, with the first phase covering about 66.67 hectares. The park has already attracted more than 15 high-quality projects.

The project funded by Wuxi Hisky Medical Technologies Co (HISKY), a rapidly growing company specialized in developing, manufacturing and marketing of high-tech medical equipment for non-invasive liver diagnosis, is currently under construction in the park.

"Due to the local government's considerate services, our project has proceeded as planned," said Sun Jin, vice president of HISKY.

"In order to carry forward the project's schedule amid the pandemic, the local government set up a special team to help us handle project approval, license and other procedures via online channels."

Sun said that the company's project will be completed and trial production would begin by the end of the year.

According to local authorities, the industrial park will continue infrastructure construction and facilitate cooperation with leading medical-related enterprises to fuel local development.
