The first intellectual property protection center in China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Yantai Area was launched on Aug 21.

It is the first intellectual property protection center in China named after the free trade zone.

The center will serve as a professional IP institution covering pretrial confirmation, administrative law enforcement, judicial protection, arbitration and mediation, as well as industry self-discipline.

It will offer a green channel for pretrial confirmation focusing on the fields of modern food, machinery manufacturing, and chemical engineering to improve efficiency.

With the launch of the center, the authorization time for invention patents will be shortened from an average of 22 months to three or six months. Patent dispute cases will be accepted and settled within just one month.
