Seven artists in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province jointly designed a set of large dough models to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Dough modeling is a traditional Chinese folk art which can be traced back to the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD). Simple ingredients such as flour and sticky rice are combined and molded into various figures and scenes, which are then painted with bright colors.
