A wave of cross-border cooperation deals has swept through Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area. As local companies forge diverse paths into global markets, more win-win partnerships are set to write new chapters in transnational collaboration.
Hengyuan Technology, a national "little giant" industrial software company, joined forces with Finland's NoSwing, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group on March 29. The project, which focuses on intelligent crane technology, combines Finnish precision control expertise with Chinese AI capabilities.
Tayho Advanced Materials' subsidiary Texrise also signed an investment agreement with the Thailand Business Center in March to build an aramid pulp production base in Thailand. The milestone marks a key step forward in Tayho's global strategy, helping lower trade costs and boost responsiveness to Southeast Asian markets.
Another deal came on March 20, when Hiacent Technology signed an agreement with IBM China to co-establish a global AI innovation center in the area. The partnership supports Yantai's ambition to become a leading AI hub in northern China.
The area has introduced integrated reforms to support overseas investment, cutting paperwork by 34.5 percent and processing time by over 60 percent. To date, the area has attracted more than 140 Fortune 500 companies, including IBM.
