Kunyu Mountain awakens: Spring hiking begins
Updated : 2026-03-13
Kunyu Mountain National Forest Park in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, has fully reopened its scenic areas just in time for spring hiking.
Often called a "natural oxygen bar", the park offers diverse experiences across its five attractions: trails through forests at Shimenli, cascading pools at Jiulong Pool, crystal-clear waters at Wuran Temple, ancient Taoist sites at Yanxia Cave, and historic relics throughout Yuegu Palace. By late April, Shimenli's slopes will be covered in pink as thousands of azaleas bloom.
