A new English online portal for the city of Weifang in East China's Shandong province, called "Discover Weifang" and located on http://shandong.chinadaily.com.cn/weifang/, went online on Dec 10.
The initiative is backed by China Daily and the Publicity Department of the CPC Weifang Municipal Committee.
It aims to display the city's achievements in environmental, cultural, economic and social development. The portal also aims to promote its participation in international trade and commerce and to introduce its picturesque landscapes and special local customs.
The website features seven main sections and 25 subsections, including "This is Weifang" for a great city overview, the "Media Center" for information, videos and a photo gallery, and the "Investment" section for the latest on the development Weifang's industries.
Then, there are the "Culture" and "Travel" sections offering insights into the city's splendid culture and magnificent attractions, the "International Exchanges" section, listing Weifang's international activities and a "Living" section covering all the info you need in your daily life.
The "Discover Weifang" portal will provide practical tips for overseas folks interested in investing, traveling, studying or living in the city, serving as an authoritative online information hub.
