Qingdao expands horizons through high-level trade platforms
This year, Qingdao in Shandong province used top exhibitions such as the China International Consumer Products Expo, China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), and the China International Import Expo (CIIE) to boost international ties and opportunities, continuously expanding new spaces for openness.
From Nov 26 to 30, the second China International Supply Chain Expo was held in Beijing, with five Qingdao enterprises participating. This event brought together the cooperation desires and visions of companies from various countries, with over 37,000 domestic and foreign suppliers establishing cooperative relationships, resulting in over 6,700 cooperation intentions.
Tsingtao Brewery Co Ltd brought its latest products to the expo. The unique experience of Tsingtao Brewery, with a shelf life of only seven days, impressed a professor at the Kedge Business School in France.
During the spring and autumn sessions of the Canton Fair this year, 837 Qingdao enterprises participated, achieving a cumulative turnover of $1.83 billion. The Canton Fair has been a historic backdrop for many Qingdao companies venturing into overseas markets. For instance, Haier Group made its first appearance at the Canton Fair in 1988, where it debuted Asia's first four-star refrigerator. Qingdao Kingking, now a leading enterprise in the home fragrance industry, obtained its first pot of gold from a substantial order at the Canton Fair.
These high-level exchange platforms are the best way for Qingdao to seize opportunities and absorb spillover effects. Qingdao trade delegations have eagerly signed up to embrace development opportunities with the world.
