Qingdao West Coast New Area will host two grand cultural events on Dec 28 and 29: a New Year's Concert by the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra and a performance of the ballet Swan Lake by the Russian State Ballet.

Established in 1970, the orchestra has become one of the world's leading classical music ensembles. In 2022, it represented Italy's finest orchestras during Rome's World Expo bid. The orchestra, composed of top Italian musicians, performs in prestigious venues worldwide over 60 times annually.

On Dec 29, the Oriental Movie Metropolis Grand Theater will host the Russian State Ballet's performance of the world's most performed and watched ballet – Swan Lake.

Commended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian State Ballet is a key cultural and artistic institution of Russia. The troupe frequently tours abroad, delivering nearly 100 performances in countries such as the UK, Germany, and France.
