Gang Hang Ping 5 offshore wind platform sets sail from Qingdao

The Gang Hang Ping 5, China's most advanced "Fourth Generation+" self-propelled and self-elevating offshore wind power construction platform, has recently embarked on its maiden voyage from the Haixi Heavy Machinery Wharf in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

This state-of-the-art platform is noted for its record-breaking lifting height, comprehensive lifting capacity, and the nation's longest lifting pile legs. It is also the first of its kind to be equipped with an intelligent ship system.

The Gang Hang Ping 5 will travel 1,000 nautical miles to the waters off Shantou, Guangdong where it will commence operations.

The platform, measuring 135 meters in length and 50 meters in width, is designed to operate in waters with depths exceeding 70 meters and boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 1,800 metric tons. It is anticipated that the platform will install over 100 offshore wind turbines annually.

This multifunctional platform integrates transportation, storage, and installation capabilities and is designed to construct wind turbines with a capacity of 26 megawatts and above.

The Gang Hang Ping 5 promises to install turbine approximately 20 percent more efficiently compared to previous generations. Additionally, its green energy system harnesses wind and solar power to ensure a sustainable supply of electricity for daily operations.
