Qingdao opens direct flight to Kuala Lumpur
Direct flights between Shandong's Qingdao to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were officially launched on July 9.
The flight operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The outbound flight is scheduled to depart from Qingdao at 9:05 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 14:50. The return flight is scheduled to depart from Kuala Lumpur at 15:50 and arrive in Qingdao at 21:40 (all times are local).
Kuala Lumpur is the capital and largest city of Malaysia, known for its iconic landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Merdeka Square, the National Mosque, and the Malaysian National Palace. With its unique cultural charm, rich natural landscapes, and profound history, Kuala Lumpur attracts many travelers every year.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, with both countries implementing a visa waiver policy since December 2023. The opening of the Qingdao-Kuala Lumpur route will further facilitate cultural exchanges between the two cities.
Qingdao Airport recently resumed passenger routes to destinations such as Singapore, Bangkok, and Nha Trang, with there now being five daily round-trip flights to Southeast Asia. At the same time, it continues to operate routes to Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Osaka, and Jeju, with an average of 41 flights per day to South Korea and Japan.
Flights to cities in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states like Moscow, Dubai, and Kathmandu are running smoothly, contributing to the promotion of high-quality development in the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, also known as SCODA, enhancing cooperation among the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries, and creating a new platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
