Since last year, Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province, has accelerated its development towards high-end, intelligent, green, and clustered industries, aiming to promote a new industrialization system led by technological innovation and advanced manufacturing, thereby propelling the city's economy to new heights.

This year, Qingdao convened a city-wide conference to promote the advancement of the new industrialization and outline key work arrangements. The city also recently announced 26 policies to speed up new industrialization by growing and strengthening enterprises, supporting the upgrading of traditional advantageous industries, and supporting breakthroughs in emerging future industry clusters.

Qingdao Sifang Sri-intellectual Technology Co Ltd, a national-level "little giant" enterprise based in Qingdao, has successfully developed and delivered the first domestic high-energy ion implanter with an energy level of eight mega-electron volts, marking a significant breakthrough in the domestic manufacturing equipment for integrated circuit cores, which will effectively safeguard the independent and controllable development of China's semiconductor industrial chain.

Qingdao is currently beefing up efforts to spur industrial upgrades through innovation in science and technology. By enhancing innovation through support for national-level innovative platforms such as high-speed trains, high-end smart home appliances, and virtual reality, Qingdao is actively participating in the high-quality development of industrial chains.

Zhao Haozhi, mayor of Qingdao, stated that the city aims to establish a national demonstration zone for new industrialization, and in advantageous industries such as smart home appliances, rail transit equipment, and ship and marine equipment. It will promote high-level technological transformation, deepen internationalization strategies, and accelerate the cultivation of world-class industrial clusters and leading enterprises.
