Laoshan emerges as quality district

In recent years, Laoshan district in Qingdao, Shandong province has implemented the strategy of becoming a quality-driven district.
It has been rated as an A-level district in the quality evaluation of Qingdao for five consecutive years and has achieved first place in being recognized as a quality-driven county in Shandong province for 2022.
It has also been selected as an advanced county for high-quality development in the entire province.
Laoshan is enhancing its industrial capacity and core competitiveness by concentrating efforts to build high-quality industrial clusters, strengthen competitive enterprise formation, and foster innovation. In 2022, the district generated over 20 billion yuan ($2.74 billion) in local general public budget revenue.
By expanding and strengthening the seven key industrial chains, Laoshan is expected to surpass a total industry scale of 170 billion yuan within the year. It has been included in the top 100 industrial districts in China for 2022.
The total number of talents in Laoshan exceeds 220,000. Two national manufacturing innovation centers have been established and put into operation.
The district has been leading the province in terms of high-value invention patent ownership per capita for several consecutive years. It has become the only national demonstration zone for the aggregation and development of the intellectual property service industry in the province.
It is home to two world-renowned products, 10 Chinese famous brand products, and 23 well-known trademarks in China. There are also 35 high-end brand enterprises in the province.
