Shinan seeks to attract investment in Shanghai
Qingdao's Shinan district recently hosted a conference in Shanghai to attract investment for its modern service industry.
As China's largest economic center and the most developed modern service industry hub, Shanghai was the first stop for Shinan district's investment promotion activities.
During the conference, the Shinan government extended an invitation to Shanghai companies to enhance collaboration in multiple sectors, such as modern finance, urban renewal construction, new economic format development, and the preservation and restoration of historical urban areas.
To promote exchanges with Shanghai-based companies, the Shinan government also invited eight accomplished Shinan entrepreneurs in the fields of modern finance, digital economy, and shipping trade, appointing them as investment promotion ambassadors.
Representatives from nearly 100 outstanding companies in Shanghai and the Shanghai-Qingdao chamber of commerce, as well as Shandong's provincial and municipal government officials stationed in Shanghai, attended the conference.
Shinan has improved its investment promotion strategy and achieved significant results. In the first half of this year, the actual utilization of foreign capital in Shinan district reached $330 million, which is 1.3 times higher compared to the same period last year.
Shinan district plans to hold two more major investment promotion conferences in key cities across the country. Additionally, several professional investment promotion teams from Shinan will be dispatched to targeted cities, industries, and leading enterprises in order to carry out effective promotional activities.
