The fifth Global Top 500 Unicorn Conference will take place in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, from Aug 31 to Sept 1, announced officials.

Co-hosted by the Qingdao government and Research Center for Chinese Private Enterprises at Renmin University of China, the event has over the past four years attracted representatives from more than 350 unicorns, over 100 experts from investment institutions, and over 15 million participants online.

Focused on boosting economic growth, this year's conference will gather authorities, associations, investment institutions, global unicorns and local pioneers.

During the two-day conference, participants will take part in various activities including matchmaking meetings, sessions and roundtable discussions.

Moreover, the latest list of global top 500 unicorns and a report on them will be released at the conference.

The conference will also provide an interpretation on Qingdao's industrial policies, development trend and business environment to attract more unicorns to settle down in the city.
