After completion, the base will serve the pilot testing needs of more than 60 R&D projects and this will subsequently drive the industrial output to over 100 billion yuan ($13.87 billion).
According to Teng Xiaobo, the person in charge of the Dongjiakou Development Group's pilot base project, the base comprises four functional areas: comprehensive management, pilot operations, logistics storage, and public support. It will also feature 13 pilot workshops, two hazardous chemical warehouses, experimental facilities, and smart control centers.
The pilot base will serve as a national-level innovation and entrepreneurship platform for the new materials industry as well as facilitate collaborations between renowned research institutions and leading chemical companies.
The base will focus on conducting research and driving innovation in the fields of polymer materials, energy and catalytic materials, functional composite materials and electronic chemical materials.
