Adopting high-tech systems, such as hydroponics and vertical farming, has enabled food production in urban areas, reducing the need for long-distance transportation and ensuring food security.

The planting area of modern facility agriculture in Laixi spans more than 200 square kilometers, with output exceeding 1 million metric tons and total output value hitting 3.45 billion yuan ($478.5 million).
