Qingdao International Airport Group and Singapore Changi Airport signed a strategic cooperation agreement on June 20 in Qingdao, Shandong province, to jointly promote airport hub construction.

According to the agreement, the two sides will jointly promote cooperation projects such as transit channel construction, service system co-construction, logistics development cooperation, cultural and tourism resource integration, and management exchanges.

The two sides will work together to build an efficient "air bridge" that will enhance the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement and practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Singapore Changi Airport is a major international aviation hub in the Asia-Pacific region. It has been awarded the title of "World's Best Airport" 12 times.

Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport has been actively negotiating strategic cooperation with Singapore Changi Airport since the beginning of this year. Both parties reached consensus on in-depth cooperation in the fields of airline and flight increase, airport commercial management, and air cargo development.

Since the beginning of this year, more flights from Qingdao to Singapore have been added to the flight schedule, with an average load factor of nearly 80 percent.
