Qingdao expos boost digital economy
The 2023 China International Consumer Electronics Exposition (CICE) and the Qingdao International Software Convergence and Innovation Expo (QISCIE) will kick off concurrently in Qingdao, Shandong province from May 17 to 19, attracting more than 300 companies to showcase top-notch products and latest achievements in domestic and international consumer electronics and the industrial internet.
Themed on "Intelligent and Digital Technologies for a Better Future", the expos demonstrate Qingdao's determination to boost the digital industry by leveraging the city's core competitiveness in smart home appliances to promote the development of the exhibition and innovative entities in the industrial chain and achieve the integration between the city's pillar sectors and emerging industries.

There are four themed exhibition areas: Chip Screen Smart Control, Virtual Audiovisual, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Application and Industrial Empowerment of Qingdao, and there's a total exhibition area of 50,000 square meters, marking the largest scale in history.
The Chip Screen Smart Control exhibition focuses on global smart home appliances, life and entertainment industries and showcases novel products and latest achievements from companies such as Haier, Hisense, Aucma, Huawei, Samsung and Sony.
The Virtual Audiovisual exhibition aims to attract the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, GoerTek and iQiyi and local companies to display the latest trends of innovation and development in the consumer electronics industry.
The AI Application exhibition showcases devices from industrial leaders such as Asus and Kingdee, and the Industrial Empowerment of Qingdao exhibition is displaying the city's achievements in software information services, the industrial internet and intelligent manufacturing to provide forward-looking experiences and benchmarks for the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector.
There is a main forum for entrepreneurs in the electronic and software industries, as well as seven high-level parallel forums and various activities. The main forum has invited heavyweight guests including industry associations, academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and globally renowned entrepreneurs to discuss issues such as nanotechnology applications, urban development fueled by digital industries and the transformation of industrial intelligence. Other key events include a summit on new displays, a retail forum on the age of AI and the metaverse and a VR technology development forum.
The CICE has been held 19 times so far and the QISCIE has been held for six times. This year's events target the global trend of the consumer electronics industry, and Qingdao's vitalization of the real economy, investment and consumption.
Since last year, Qingdao has implemented a three-year action plan for the vitalization and development of the real economy and developed 24 key industrial chains.
