Shinan dives into romance
Known as the first city in North China for wedding photography, Qingdao is widely regarded as a romantic city. The 2022 Qingdao Wedding Culture Festival opened in Qingdao's Shinan district on Nov 17, and visitors are able to relish in the sweetness of love in almost every corner of Shinan. Here are some places to check out for interested romance seekers.
Villa Anna, a villa that is more than a century old and located near the Catholic Church, now serves as the office where married couples can get their official marriage certificates. During the festival, the villa is decorated with bright red roses. [Photo/WeChat account: Shinanly]
The magnificent Badaguan is home to the villa known as Ronganli. A pine tree was recently adorned with a large pink bow and pink bells to intensify the festive ambiance and greet the upcoming Christmas Day. [Photo/WeChat account: Shinanly]
Buildings in the old downtown, including the Qingdao Post Office and Telecommunications Museum, are painted with pictures that represent the history of Qingdao. Among the artworks, the most famous one is the "I love Qingdao" postmark, which gives a bird's-eye view of Shinan's stunning coastal area. [Photo/WeChat account: Shinanly]
As a coastal city, Qingdao boasts a large number of seagulls. In winter, seagulls linger near the coastline and bird-watchers flock to the Zhangqiao Pier to get a good view of the sea birds, which is also a part of Qingdao's romantic vibe. [Photo/WeChat account: Shinanly]
