A high-level art exhibition featuring works from professional painting academies in domestic cities opened in Qingdao, Shandong province on Oct 25.

The exhibition is jointly sponsored by the Organizing Committee of the Annual Conference of China Metropolitan Professional Painting Academies, the Qingdao Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Publicity Department of Qingdao and the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Qingdao.

Held at the art museum of Qingdao Art Academy and the Qingdao Municipal Art Museum, the exhibition displays over 300 excellent works from 31 professional painting academies nationwide, covering diverse forms such as Chinese painting, oil painting, calligraphy, watercolor, and printmaking.

During the exhibition, the organizing committee will invite artists of domestic painting academies to participate in a seminar in Qingdao. Sketching activities will also take place to describe the mountains and sea scenery and local customs of Qingdao with artists' wonderful ink and brush.
