Shuangzhu Park, a landmark in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA), is expected to complete upgrading at the end of May and reopen to the public.
Built in 1987, Shuangzhu Park is a comprehensive park that covers nearly 20 hectares. The upgrading project, which started in last November, covers 18.7 hectares at the original site.
The project includes such modifications as the optimization and reconstruction of park entrances and exits, construction of new sports grounds and new public toilets, improvement of public facilities, reconstruction of roads inside the park, and dredging of artificial lakes.
The upgraded park will help improve the living environment of the old urban area in western Qingdao WCNA, meet the leisure and fitness needs of local residents, and improve the city's appearance.
