The ninth International Academy of Drama Award will be held in June in Shinan district, Qingdao, according to a news conference held on Feb 22.

The event will primarily consist of a cartoon image collection, an opening ceremony, an evaluation of excellent drama performances, and an awards ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, the jury for the ninth International Academy of Drama Award (Acting Award) will be announced. The jury will be chaired by Wang Zhiwen, a well-known Chinese actor, who will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.

Famous artists, stars and theater lovers will also be invited to partake in the opening ceremony.

The organizing committee has established awards such as the Outstanding Drama Award, the Best Leading Actor Award, the Best Supporting Actor Award, the Best Newcomer Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award to honor creators and performers who have made outstanding contributions to theater and to encourage the emergence of more talents.

During the event, Qingdao will present exceptional theatrical productions in a variety of styles from around the world.
